Some high powered, political office holders spent some R-and-R over the weekend in Puerto Rico. About 30 Democratic members of Congress flew to Puerto Rico for a winter getaway and to see a special performance of the Broadway show 'Hamilton', all of this while the partial government shut-down dragged on back home.
Those attending the retreat, however, are believed to have discussed ongoing clean-up efforts from Hurricane Maria. The names of the lawmakers who took part in the trip were not immediately known, although New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez was spotted on a local beach. The politicians' trip took place as 800,000 federal workers remained off the job with no pay since the partial government shut-down began on Dec. 22.
