U.S. and Chinese relations have taken a turn downward. The State Department has issued a travel advisory for Americans looking to travel to China. U.S. leaders accuse China of 'arbitrary enforcement of local laws'.
The advisory claims Beijing has asserted broad authority in detaining U.S. citizens and not allowing them to leave China.
The U.S. says China may also deny Americans access to U.S. Consular services. The advisory comes amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and China over trade.
