There's an effort afoot by one Japanese company to curb the numbers of employees who take cigarette breaks.
The marketing firm, Piala Inc. is now offering non-smoking staffers an additional six days off a year to make up time smokers take to have a cigarette.
The company is reacting after an employee complained that smoke breaks were affecting productivity.
Smoke breaks meant some workers were away from their tasks for up to fifteen minutes daily. The change in company policy is also driven to encourage staff to quit smoking.
