(Thornton, Colorado) - A principal at a Colorado middle School is apologizing to parents for failing to notify them that a drag queen would be speaking at the school's career day last Friday.
Some parents at Rocky Top Middle School in Thornton, Colorado are unhappy that Ms. Jessica, a gay man, was invited to speak to students alongside a police officer and an architect.
Ms. Jessica is an adult entertainer, according to one parent, and spoke about his job and it's connection to literacy.
According to a letter sent to parents by Rocky Top Principal Chelsea Behanna, Ms. Jessica read a chapter from 'Horrible Harry' and illustrated, through the text, the damage that bullies can do.
Ms. Jessica says she used the time at the school to show children it is o-k to be different. Some parents say they wished they would have been notified so they could have decided whether to send their kids to school that day.
