Some football parents in Vermilion are upset following a game over the weekend. The Vermilion Sailors fifth and sixth grade team took on the Lorain Clippers Saturday at Fairview HIgh School.
The game was very hard hitting as nine Ver,milion players were hurt with five going to the hospital, one for a severe concussion, another for a broken collar bone.
Vermilion parents and coaches were upset that the game was allowed to continue as the injuries mounted.
One Vermilion coach said his kids were injured as the opponent kept leading with the crown of their helmets, saying there is a proper way to tackle which was not being employed.
The Vermilion coach actually asked the officiating crew if the game could be forfeited but he was told that it couldn't.
