(Berea) - It's official! Cleveland Browns Head Coach Hue Jackson has named rookie QB Baker Mayfield the starter for Sunday's road game against the winless Raiders.
Mayfield entered Thursday night's game at FirstEnergy Stadium against the Jets trailing 14-0 late in the first half after starter Tyrod Taylor was knocked out of the game with an injury.
The Heisman Trophy winner led the team to a comeback 21-17 victory over New York. Mayfield finished the game 17-of-21 for 201 yards and led four Browns scoring drives.
The Browns enter this weekend's game with a 1-1-1 record while Oakland comes in at 0-and-3.
