Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Oscar The Grouch are slowly becoming a thing of the past on Pampers diapers.
Shopper Susie-Wong Benjamin says when she bought Pampers that had a generic design, she asked a Proctor and Gamble rep, the company which makes the brand, why the characters were gone, she said she was told the 'Sesame Street' characters are too masculine.
The issue was further clouded when a spokesperson for Pampers denied gender issues had anything to do with the phasing out of 'Sesame Street' characters.
