(Berea) - Cleveland Browns Linebacker Mychael Kendricks is in some legal hot water. Kendricks has been hit with federal charges of insider trading.
The Justice Department and F.B.I. claim Kendricks made $1.2 million by trading before four acquisitions were announced.
In a statement, Kendricks says he apologizes for the insider trading which took place four years ago. Kendricks says he invested money with a former friend he thought he could trust.
Kendricks says he is cooperating with the investigation. The Browns say they are aware of the situation and that Kendricks will not make the trip to Detroit for the team's final pre-season game Thursday night against the Lions.
