Attendance throughout Major League Baseball is not living up to previous years numbers. Barring a jump in September attendance, the year-over-year dip in MLB attendance will exceed 3-million fans in the next ten days or so.
If there is no substantial jump in attendance numbers throughout the Majors, the league's attendance numbers will fail to hit the 70-million fan mark for the first time since 2003.
The numbers could be down because of inclement weather in April and parts of May that affected cities like Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago and Minnesota, to name a few.
Despite the league-wide numbers, the Cleveland Indians, are again on pace, to total nearly two million fans this season.
