HOUSTON, TX--- Although Noah Syndergaard shinned in his Guardians debut, the Guardians still lost to the Astros in Houston 7-3 Monday night after a bullpen implosion. Syndergaard would go about 5 and a third innings, giving up only 2 hits.

Syndergaard was working with a comfortable 2-0 lead thanks to a Bo Naylor RBI double and Myles Straw SAC fly in the 2nd inning. Even though Syndergaard only gave up 2 hits, the Astros were smoking the ball out to the warning track on multiple occasions, including the 5th inning, where all 3 outs were fly outs at the track. When he came out in the 6th, he would be struck with a ball hit by Houston shortstop Jeremy Pena in the leg, he would walk around, try and throw some pitches but would ultimately be pulled from the game, there are no details on the injury at the time this article is being written, but be sure to follow along on your Guardians flagship for updates. Once Syndergaard was pulled was when the implosion began..

Eli Morgan would be the first out of the bullpen for Cleveland, he would not finish the 6th inning. The first 3 hitters Morgan faced he gave up an RBI single, walk, and a 3 run home run back-to-back-to-back. The woes for Guardians relievers continued as another run was given up on a wild pitch from Michael Kelly in the 7th, Kelly would walk 4 Houston batters in the 7th. The Astros continued to pile on runs in the 8th inning with a Jake Meyers RBI single and Kyle Tucker SAC fly with the bases loaded. In that inning Jose Altuve would draw his 3rd walk of the night, all together, the Guardians walked 9 Houston batters Monday night. The Guardians had a chance in the 9th loading the bases and getting a run home thanks to a Steven Kwan SAC fly, but that would be the last run for Cleveland.

The Guardians will stay in Houston for another 8:10 start in Houston, you can hear the game on WTAM 1100 AM, 106.9 FM, your free iHeartRadio app, and HERE
