CHICAGO, IL--- In close contention for first place in the AL Central with the Minnesota Twins, the Guardians got a big division win against the White Sox in Chicago Thursday night, winning by a final score of 6-3. The Guardians are now just 1 and a half games back out of first place. Tanner Biebee put up a good fight against White Sox ace Dylan Cease, Biebee went a little over 6 innings giving up only 6 hits and 3 runs, all 3 runs coming off the bat of Jake Burger.

The Guardians offense managed to get on Cease early, with Steven Kwan hitting a triple early on to start the game, later being driven in by an Andres Gimenez double. Josh Naylor and Will Brennan would break open the game in third with Naylor hitting a 2 run double, being driven home by a Will Brennan single, extending Cleveland's lead to 4-0. Earlier I mentioned that Beibee's 3 runs were all given up to Jake Burger, he would hit 2 home runs, a solo shot in the 3rd, then a 2 run homer in the 5th, being the only White Sox batter who gave Biebee trouble all night. The Naylor brothers would put the seal on the game with Josh legging out a hustle double on a groundball that ricocheted off second base allowing Andres Gimenez to score in the 7th. Then Bo Naylor would hit a sharp RBI single to right field driving in Gabriel Arias in the 8th. Along with the dagger of the game, Bo Naylor also got his first stolen base of his young MLB career in the 6th inning.

The Guardians will see Xzavion Curry take the mound Friday night, Logan T Allen Saturday night, Aaron Civale Sunday, then we will see the Cleveland debut of Noah Syndergaard Monday for the series opener against the Astros.
