PHEONIX, AZ--- Game number 69 of the season would see the Guardians fall victim by a final score of 5-1 to the dominate home pithing of Arizona starter Zac Gallen, who sported a 0.97 ERA at home coming into Friday night's matchup. Some breaking news dominated the pregame as Mike Zunino was designated for assignment and we would see a call up of a prospect Touki Toussaint, who would start in place of Triston McKenzie who was scratched due to right elbow discomfort. Toussaint was pulled in the 4th inning after loading the bases, he would total a little over 3 innings pitched, giving up 3 hits, 2 runs and walking 5.

We wouldn't see much from the Guardians offense except from a Jose Ramirez solo home run in the 4th inning, extending his hitting streak to 9 games. In those 9 games Ramirez and Josh Naylor have been dominate, with Ramirez sporting a .447 batting average, while driving in 9 runs and scoring 7. Naylor has sported a .421 batting average while driving in 10 runs while scoring 10. The Diamondbacks jumped out to a lead quick in the first 2 innings with a 2 out double from Christian Walker in the first and a SAC fly from Geraldo Perdomo, who has a .429 average with runners in scoring position this year. The Diamondbacks would stretch their lead with 2 runs in the 6th inning with a Pavin Smith single and a Corbin Carrol double. Ketel Marte would then put the dagger in with his 30th RBI of the season with a base hit in the 7th.

Due to Toussaint's spot start, something he's not even used to doing as he is primarily a bullpen arm, it forced the Guardians bullpen to work overtime, one of those arms was Xzavion Curry, who wouldn't make it through 2 innings after giving up 6 hits and 2 runs. Some good news to report along with what happened pregame, we learned that we will finally see Bo Naylor on the field as he will join the team Saturday and most likely catch Tanner Biebbe Sunday, start time for Saturday is 10:10 pm and 4:10 pm Sunday.
