BOSTON,MA--- The Guardians had an impressive offensive performance in Boston Friday night, defeating the Red Sox 5-2 behind starter Shane Bieber's 7 innings of 5 hit baseball, Bieber would also strike out 4 Boston batters.

The Guardians didn't waste anytime getting things going at the plate Friday night, with multiple impressive battling at bats from Josh Naylor who would hit a SAC fly to bring in Steven Kwan, and Jose Ramirez, who would have a 12 pitch at bat that led to a base hit to center field putting runners at the corners. Ramirez was then brought home by a Josh Bell 2 out double off the outfield wall. The next inning the Guardians would see an RBI single from Myles Straw, who has been struggling as of late batting .138 in the last 9 games. Straw's base hit would bring home Will Brennan who not only recorded a stolen base, but would also wrap a homer around the pesky right filed pole in the top of the 9th. The Guardians would get another solo home run in the 4th inning from Mike Zunino, taking advantage of the Boston starting rotation's 6.41 ERA coming into Friday's game.

The Guardians hope to get 2 games in Saturday and Sunday, but it looks unlikely due to impending rain all weekend in Boston, keep up with the latest this weekend on your flagship WTAM 1100 AM, 106.9 FM, on the free iHeartRadio app, or HERE
