CLEVELAND, OH -- Shane Bieber looked virtually untouchable in his start against the Twins in game one of a split doubleheader. The Cleveland ace tossed eight full innings while giving up a lone run on 4 hits as he left the Twins sitting in the dugout with no confidence at all. Jose Ramirez put the Guardians ahead in the home half of the first inning on a solo homer over the right field wall. Owen Miller broke the game open in the 4th inning on a two-run RBI single, as the Guardians cruised to a 5-1 win over the visiting Twins.

Shane Bieber seems to be rounding into form as the Guardians find themselves in the midst of a 3-team pennant race, and he gave Cleveland everything he had on Saturday afternoon. Emmanuel Clase was called upon to shut the door in the ninth, and he did just that, sitting down Minnesota in order to secure the Guardians' seventh consecutive win against the Twins..

Game two of the double header is set for a 7:10 first pitch at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
