CHICAGO, IL--- The Guardians and White Sox split their day-night doubleheader with the White Sox taking the second game 5-4. Konnor Pilkington was on the mound and would start hot, getting out the first 6 batters he faced.
Speaking of Pilkington and his hot start, he would be responsible for the White Sox first run of the game walking Yoan Moncada with the bases loaded, AJ Pollack would be the runner to walk in from 3rd. Moncada would be responsible for another run as well, in the 5th inning he would hit a double to bring in Tim Anderson. In the next inning, we would see a solo Home Run from Eloy Jimenez given up by Guardians pitcher Anthony Castro, who at that point has now given up 5 home runs in just 11 innings of relief. The Guardians had one heck of a 7th inning including 2 RBI triples from both Myles Straw and Amed Rosario. Also in that inning, we would see another RBI hit from Steven Kwan, which would be his 7th hit of the series. In the 8th inning, the White Sox would secure the win with a knock off the bat of Pollack that would ricochet off the glove of Ernie Clement who was playing 3rd base.
The Guardians are still in the southside of Chicago tomorrow for a 2:10 first pitch, Shane Bieber is on the mound.
