DETROIT, MI--- The Cleveland Guardians just didn't have it in the Motor City tonight as they lose to the Tigers 11-4. In a game where we would see catcher Sandy Leon pitch 2 innings, that alone should tell the story of how this game went. Cal Quantrill was the stater today, and coming into this game he was 5-0 in his lifetime in July. The Tigers on the other hand have the worst offense in the MLB producing 3 runs a game, it sure didn't look like that tonight.

The Tigers started in the 2nd inning with a single off the bat of Victor Reyes that would bring in Johnathan Schoop and Jemir Candelario. Reyes was then brought in by a Riley Greene double. Greene then scored on a Miguel Cabrera single, Cabrera reached 2nd base on a throwing error from Steven Kwan trying to throw Greene out at home. The first 2 Guardians runs of the game came from Franmil Reyes in the 1st and Owen Miller in the 4th. It would be all Detroit from there with Eric Haase, Riley Greene, Jeimer Candelario, and Victor Reyes all continuing their contributions to the run column. Haase added 2 runs with a homer in the 4th. The Guardians scored 2 late runs in the 8th and 9th innings but it would not be enough to topple the 11 runs on 13 hits the Tigers bolstered.

The Guardians will play an afternoon game still in Detroit with Shane Bieber on the mound throwing his first pitch at 1:10.
