Guardians Outlast Rockies In Extra Innings, WIn 4-3

DENVER, CO--- We had a nail-biter in Colorado as the Guardians defeated the Rockies in extra innings 4-3. Shane Bieber had a solid outing through the first 6 innings striking out 7. It was the Guardians bullpen who came in clutch with Bryan Shaw getting the win tonight. The Guardians entered this game losing 8 straight games at Coors Field but thankfully ended that streak.

Who else but Jose Ramirez to start the game scoring by hitting a line-drive single to left field that brought home Amed Rosario. The Rockies came right back in the bottom half of that 3rd inning with an RBI triple from CJ Cron that allowed Brendan Rodgers to score. Things were quiet for both teams until the top of the 6th, with Josh Naylor driving in Jose Ramirez with his first of his 2 doubles. Ramirez, who had stolen second would advance to 3rd on a bad throw. Charlie Blackmon then tied things up in the bottom of the 7th with a 2-run bomb that brought home Brian Serven. That home run from Blackmon ties him with Dante Bichette for 6th place on the Rockies' all-time Home Run list for a single player in franchise history. From then on we had a stalemate until the Guardians started extra innings hot as almost immediately Jose Ramirez would smoke a double past CJ Cron at first base to clear Amed Rosario off the base path.

The Guardians stay at Coors Field tomorrow as we will see Konnor Pilkington try and battle against the very anti-pitcher conditions in Denver.
