CLEVELAND, OH --The Toronto Bluejays jumped all over Cleveland's ace Shane Bieber in the second inning. Raimel Tapia roped a two-RBi single to shallow left field, followed by a George Springer double to give Toronto an early 4-0 lead. Springer and Tapia would go on to drive in another run each as the Jays cruised to an 8-3 win over the Guardians.
Toronto ace Kevin Gausman gave the Jays a strong outing in game one of Saturday's doubleheader. Gausman tossed 6 1/3 innings, giving up a lone run on 6 total hits. Trent Thornton and Julian Merryweather combined for 2 2/3 innings of relief, giving up 2 earned runs with 3 walks.
Cleveland and Toronto will square off for game two of the doubleheader at 6:15 pm Et at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
