Oakland, CA--- The Guardians won their second consecutive game against the As in Oakland Saturday afternoon by a final score of 3-1. After last night's high-scoring affair, it was a different story with it tied at 1-1 for a majority of the game.
The Guardians struck first in the top of the 4th inning on an Andres Gimenez single to center field, which scored Oscar Mercado. Then in the bottom of the 5th, the As got a run off a solo HR, also to center field from Sheldon Neuse. The game would stay tied at 1 until the 9th inning when a clutch double from Richie Palacios scored Owen Miller and Andres Gimenez, who has had a solid series in Oakland. How about that for your first major league RBI? The Guardians also thrived on the mound, Shane Bieber's outing today was not only his best of the season but also his longest personally, and the longest outing of any starting Guardians pitcher all season. Bieber went 7 innings allowing 7 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and striking out 7. Nick Sandlin also had a clean inning of relief, not giving up a run or hit, clearing the way for Emmanuel Clase to get the save, he also went only an inning giving up just one hit.
