BRONX, NEW YORK--- The Cleveland Guardians traveled to Yankee Stadium to take on the Yankees Friday night, and the result was not good. Things started strong with a solid 2 innings from Guardians starter Eli Morgan, who stood out in Lake County in the minors. Also Steven Kwan with a double in the top of the first inning. After that, things started to go downhill for Cleveland. Some positives first, Guardians players Tanner Tully and Bryan Lavastida had some big personal milestones, Tully making his MLB debut on the mound and Lavastida getting his first career MLB hit, quite a feat accomplishing those at iconic Yankee Stadium.

It was all Yankees for most of the game tonight, both offensively and pitching-wise, especially from relief pitcher Michael King, who struck out 7 consecutive Guardians hitters, the Yankees in total struck out 14 Guardians hitters on the night. At the plate, it was who else but Aaron Judge dominating with 2 HRs in the 3rd and 5 innings. Off of his first Home Run, Judge brought in DJ LeMahieu to score, his second being a solo Home Run. Scoring also came from Isiah Kiner-Falefa who had an RBI single that brought in Josh Donaldson who had a short stint with Cleveland in 2018. The only run on the night for the Guardians came from a solo Home Run from Franmil Reyes in the top of the 4th.

The Guardians will be back at Yankee Stadium tomorrow afternoon with expected starter Cal Quantrill on the mound after clearing COVID protocols, if not then we'll see Kirk McCarty. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
