Zach Plesac earned the win and improved his record to 1-1. He allowed two runs (one earned), walked one batter, and struck out three in 6 2/3 innings. Emmanuel Clase picked up his second save with a perfect ninth inning. White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits, with two walks and three strikeouts.
Franmil Reyes hit his first home run this season in the third inning for a 2-0 Guardians lead. Josh Naylor delivered two scoring hits - an RBI single in the fifth, and an RBI double in the seventh. Steven Kwan scored two runs and drove one in with a sacrifice fly.
For the White Sox, Yasmani Grandal delivered the first run in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly. In the seventh inning, the White Sox scored two runs on a pair of throwing errors on one play.
The Guardians (7-5) will begin a ten-day road trip tomorrow, starting with a three-game series against the New York Yankees (7-6). Afterward, they will travel to California to take on the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics. The Guardians are 4-2 on the road so far this season.
