CLEVELAND, OH--- The Cleveland Guardians dropped their second game in a row to the visiting San Francisco Giants 4-2 Saturday night in what was once again a closely contested game till a single inning breakdown. Cal Quantrill started off the game hot, not allowing a hit through 5 innings and allowing only 2 walks. So did Myles Straw starting the game with a lead-off triple.

Owen Miller had a strong game offensively, including tonight, he is on a 6 game streak of extra-base hits, adding the 6th with a double. Unfortunately, he didn't have a good game defensively, making an error early in the game, dropping a ball thrown to him from the infield, then in the 8th inning, failing to get back to first in time on a potential double play, he allowed a Giants run to score, that run coming from Brandon Belt. Standouts from the Guardians include Jose Ramirez who went 2 for 3 on the night Josh Naylor who also went 2 for 3, and Owen Miller going 2 for 2 at the plate. Guardians runs came from Jose Ramirez who had a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 1st, bringing in Myles Straw, their second came from a Myles Straw double in the bottom of the 5th inning, scoring Owen Miller. The Giant's first 2 runs came from a Brandon Belt single, scoring Steven Duggar and Thario Estrada in the top of the 5th. Wilmer Flores ground out in the top of the 8th scoring Brandon Belt. Then came the struggles, a wild pitch from Nick Sandlin, which scored Austin Slater. The Guardians also continued to struggle with leaving runners on base, leaving them loaded in the 6th inning.

The Guardians are back at it again on Easter Sunday, for a new Sunday afternoon start time of 1:40 pm. We will see Aaron Civale on the mound for the Guardians at Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland.
