ARLINGTON, TX -- Triston McKenzie's recent struggle against preventing the deep ball came back to haunt the young starter. Willie Calhoun launched a solo blast in the 1st, and the young slugger Jonah Heim blasted a 3-run homer to blew the game wide open. Cleveland tried to make a late push but it wasn't enough, falling to the Rangers by the final score of 7-2.
Texas starter Jordan Lyles got revenge against the ball club that he struggled immensely against in his last start against the tribe. Lyles finished the game with a final line of one earned run on two hits in 7 full innings of work, striking out 8 batters while issuing a lone walk.
The Indians and Rangers will square off in the regular season finale on Sunday afternoon. First pitch on Sunday is set for 3:05 pm ET at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
