Indians Finish Off Twins 12-3 in Season Series Finale

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- The Indians were hungry for runs after struggling mightily at the plate throughout the past week, jumping out to a lead and never looking back. Oscar Mercado broke the game open with a 3-run no doubt homer to left field, launching his 5th bomb of the season. The tribe put up a 5 spot in the 7th inning to gain a 10-0 lead, and would go on to defeat the Twins in the season series finale by the final score of 12-3.

Tribe starter Cal Quantrill was brilliant once again, throwing 6.2 innings of shutout baseball. giving up two total hits. Jose Ramirez appeared to break out of his recent slump, going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI.

The Twins finsih the season series against the Indians with a 11-8 record, with both teams out of contention for the playoffs. Cleveland will take Thursday off before heading to the Bronx to take on the New York Yankees for a three game weekend series. First pitch on Friday night is set for 7:05 pm ET at Yankee Stadium in New York City, new York.
