CLEVELAND, OH -- The Cleveland Indians were down 4-0 and were being not hit heading into the 6th inning, when Jose Ramirez turned the game on it's side. The reigning MVP candidate launched a two-run homer to put the no-hitter to rest, and his teammates rallied behind him. Austin Hedges sent out a solo shot in the 7th inning tie the game at 5 runs a piece, when Yu Chang stepped up to the plate in a clutch situation. Chang ripped a double down the third baseline, when Mercado rounded third and was interfered with on his way home, and was in-turn called safe due to the base runner interference call, putting the tribe on top in the late innings. Myles Straw ripped an RBi single for the always important insurance run, as the tribe would go on to stun the Red Sox by the score of 7-5.
Following a long 3 hour rain delay, tribe starter Eli Morgan came out looking a bit stiff. Morgan was pulled after tossing just three innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 2 hits. Tribe rookie Trevor Stephan provided two innings of brilliant relief, working out of a big jam in the 6th inning.
The tribe will get Monday off before heading to Missouri to take on the pesky Royals for a 3-game series. First pitch on Tuesday night is set for 8:10 pm ET at Ewing M Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
