The Tribe Could Not Catch the Rangers

Cleveland, OH--

The Indians and Rangers met again for the first time since 2019 for a three game series in Cleveland. Cleveland sent Eli Morgan to the mound tonight and the Rangers' started Taylor Hearn. Nathaniel Lowe and the Rangers struck first with a three run home run in the first and the Rangers never looked back. Cleveland was scoreless until the third inning. Daniel Johnson was the first Indian to get a run on the board with a line drive to right field. Texas brought in another run off the bat of DJ Peters to bring Adolis Garcia home in the fifth and brought the score to 4-1.

The Tribe scored two more runs from Yu Chang in the fifth and Franmil Reyes in the sixth, but they still could not get ahead of the Rangers for the rest of the night. The Rangers sealed the Indians' fate with a three run home run in the top of the ninth from DJ Peters. Cleveland could not produce any plays in the ninth with all three batters grounding out. The final score Texas 7 Cleveland 3.

Cleveland and Texas will face off tomorrow night at Progressive Field with a 7:10 first pitch.
