CLEVELAND, OH -- Cleveland's young right handed pitcher Eli Morgan continued his progression as a solid major league starter on Saturday night against the visiting Tigers. Morgan tossed 7 innings giving up only two runs, but did not have much of any run support from the tribe lineup. Detroit starter Tyler Alexander struggled at times throughout his start but was able to work out of jams. Leaving runners on base came back to haunt the Indians, who fell to the Tigers by the final score of 2-1.
Akil Baddoo extended the Detroit lead to two runs on an RBI line drive single to center field, with Victor Reyes scoring on a throwing error from Myles Straw.
The newly acquired Wilson Ramos slammed his first career homer as an Indian, sending out a 441 foot blast to the bleachers in left center field.
The Tigers and Indians will square off in the rubber match of the weekend series on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 1:10 pm ET at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
