TORONTO, OT-- The Indians' pitching woes continued tonight. The Blue Jays took an early lead against the Indians' starting pitcher J C Mejia. The Jays' George Springer continued what he started last night and launched a solo home run to center field to start Toronto's rally with four runs in the first. Springer's bat was hot early tonight with a double in the third to bring the score to a large lead with a score of 8-0.
In the eighth inning Cleveland finally racked up some runs with loaded bases. Owen Miller doubled and Bradley Zimmer hit a sacrifice fly ball to bring the score to 4-8. In the ninth inning Jose Ramirez and Oscar Mercado both hit solo home runs to bring the final to 6-8. Toronto's starting pitcher Steven Matz earned the win tonight with seven straight shut out innings.
Toronto and Cleveland will square off in the final game of the series on Thursday evening. First pitch is set for 7:07 pm ET at Rogers Centre in Tornto, Ontario.
