Bradley Zimmer Leads Tribe Past A's to Take Weekend Series

OAKLAND, CA -- Bradley Zimmer was called upon to bat lead off with Cesar Hernandez receiving the day off, and he made a statement. The Cleveland center fielder jumped on the first pitch of the game, sending it over the center field wall. Zimmer ripped a 2-out RBI single in the top half of the 9th inning to give the Indians the all important insurance run. Bullpen veteran Bryan Shaw shut the door on the Indians to secure a 4-2 win over the Athletics, taking the three game weekend set.

Zach Plesac took the hill with a predetermined pitch count of high 80's and was magnificent. Sunday's victory marked Cleveland's first series win in Oakland since the 2014 season. The tribe will head to Houston to take on the most controversial team in baseball in a three game series.
