CLEVELAND, OH -- Progressive Field was booming on Friday night as the Indians welcomed a max capacity crowd on a Dollar Dog and fireworks night in what some were calling the "Home Opener 2.0". Aaron Civale took the hill in front of a packed stadium and came out a bit shaky, loading the bases before escaping the jam unscathed. The Indians jumped out to a 3-run lead in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to a 7-0 win over the visiting Mariners.
Tribe slugger Bobby Bradley continues to tear the cover off of the ball since being called up to the Indians on June 5th. Bradley drove in three runs, including a moonshot to to right center field in the 3rd inning. Cleveland middle infielder Amed Rosario batted 4 for 5 while scoring twice.
Aaron Civale was brilliant on Friday night, notching a new career high in strikeouts with 11 total. The Indians right hander finished the game with an impressive final line of 0 earned runs on 1 hit in 8 full innings of work.
The Indians will look to stay hot on Saturday afternoon against the Seattle Mariners. First pitch is set for 4:10 pm ET at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. Check out highlights from tonight's game below!
