KANSAS CITY, MO -- Cleveland ace Shane Bieber did not look like his normal self on Wednesday evening, but the tribe lineup picked up his slack. The Indians fell behind by four runs, before rallying back in the late innings to knockoff the Royals by the final score of 5-4, taking the first three games of the four-game series.
The momentum swung in the favor of Cleveland in the middle innings, following multiple ejections of Royals players and staff members by home plate umpire Angel Hernandez. Eddie Rosario got the Indians on the board on an RBI double scoring Jose Ramirez and Jake Bauers. Tribe third baseman Jose Ramirez launched a laser to the right field seats to tie the game up in the 8th. Cleveland corner outfielder Josh Naylor jumped on a four seam fastball to launch the go-ahead homer in the top half of the 9th inning.
Shane Bieber tossed 6 full innings for the visiting Indians, giving up 3 earned runs on 9 hits, striking out 9 batters. Cleveland's red hot bullpen combined for 3 full innings of work, giving up 0 earned runs. James Karinchak earned his third save of the season. Check out highlights from tonight's game below!
