CLEVELAND, OH -- Much like the night before, the Cleveland Indians jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, before watching their bats go ice cold. The tribe jumped out to a 3-0 lead as it appeared Yankees starter Jordan Montgomery did not have his normal stuff. New York responded with a big inning of their own, tying the game in the next half inning. Montgomery appeared to calm down after his early hiccup, going on to toss 4 2/3 innings without giving up another run. The Yankees would later take the lead via the long ball. cruising to a 5-3 win over the tribe.
The New York Yankees came into Cleveland ice cold in the batter's box, and have since erupted. New York launched a total of four bombs in their Friday night win over the tribe. The Yankees jumped on Cleveland starter Logan Allen, going yard 3 times on the lefty in just two innings. New York slugger Giancarlo Stanton sent out two long balls, proving to be out of his early season slump.
Cleveland starter Logan Allen once again struggled early on into his start, being pulled in the 2nd inning after giving up four. Franmil Reyes got the tribe on the board with an RBI double that scored Cesar Hernandez. Amed Rosario drove in his 3rd RBI of the season on an RBI single past the glove of Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres.
The Cleveland Indians will look to get a game back from the New York Yankees on Saturday evening, in a match up that pits Cleveland ace Shane Bieber against New York ace Gerrit Cole.
