CLEVELAND, OH -- Tribe left hander Logan Allen took the bump for the Cleveland Indians on Sunday afternoon against the Tigers in the final game of the weekend series, and got off to a bit of a shaky start. Allen gave up an early run and was staring at the bases loaded with Jonathan Schoop in the batter's box looking to break the game wide open. Much like his first start of the season, Allen was able to tip toe out of the inning with limited damage. The tribe bats stayed hot into Sunday, as they roped in 5 total runs in a 5-2 win over the Tigers to complete the three game sweep.
Cesar Hernandez got the scoring party going on a RBI single down the first base line, scoring Gimenez and putting the Indians on top in the third inning. Leading 3-2, Franmil Reyes roped an RBi single to right field, and Tigers corner outfielder Nomar Mazara overthrew the htrow to home, bringing home a second run on the throwing error.
Logan Allen found his rhythm after a rough start in the first, giving up one earned run on two hits in 5 total innings of work. The Cleveland bullpen was excellent once again, with Karinchak striking out the side in the eighth inning, and Emmanuel Clase topping 100 mph on each cutter that he threw on his way to his second save of the young season.
The Cleveland Indians have now won four straight games following their 3-game sweep of the visiting Tigers, and will head to the Windy City to begin a four game series against the White Sox. First pitch on Monday evening is set for 8:10 pm ET at Guaranteed Rate Field on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. Check out highlights from tonight's game below!
