CLEVELAND, OH -- The Chicago Cubs sent out a lineup full of prospects to take on the Cleveland Indians, and they lived up to the task. David Bote got things going early for the Cubbies with a solo shot in the first inning. The Cubs held off a surging tribe lineup in the 9th to secure a 4-3 win.
Chicago relied on the long ball to top the tribe. Center fielder Jake Marisnick took Oliver Perez yard to gain a 2-run lead over the Indians, which proved to be enough to get the victory.
Tribe outfielder Daniel Johnson got the Indians on board with an RBI single to right field, socring Ben Gamel. Bradley Zimmer scored the Indians' second run on an RBI double off of the bat of Ben Gamel.
The Cleveland Indians will take on the Colorado Rockies on Friday afternoon. First pitch is set for 4:10 pm ET at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Scottsdale, Arizona.
