MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Tribe ace Shane Bieber was beyond stellar once again in his second start of the 2020 campaign. After striking out 13 batters against the Twins, Shane Bieber tied an MLB record for most strikeouts through the first two games of the season with 27, tying Karl Spooner's record which was set in September of the 1954 season.

Minnesota starter Jose Berrios scuffled a bit during the 3rd inning, giving up a 2-run shot over the left field wall off the bat of Francisco Lindor. Berrios bounced back from a 2-run third inning, shutting down the tribe for the remainder of his start. Despite an impressive start from the Minnesota ace, the Indians edged past the Twins by the final score of 2-0.

The Cleveland Indians starting rotation has been lights out to begin the 2020 season. Tonight's game marked seven consecutive starts with their starter going at least 6 full innings while giving up 2 or less runs. Tribe skipper Tito Francona looked to the young right hander James Karinchak to close out the ninth inning, and Karinchak did not disappoint. Number 99 came out of the bullpen and looked untouchable, retiring all three batters that he faced while cruising to his first career save in the MLB.

Cleveland and Minnesota will face off for the second game of their four-game series on Friday evening, first pitch set for 8:10 pm ET at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mike 'Sunshine' Clevinger will take the bump for the visiting Cleveland Indians, squaring off against Minnesota right hander Randy Dobnak. Check out highlights from tonight's game below!
