PITTSBURGH -- The bats were quiet in Pittsburgh for the Indians for a majority of the night, but that was until the 8th inning when Christian Arroyo and Yu Chang powered a 4 run inning to help the Indians come back from being down 3-0 to beat the Pirates 5-3 on Saturday night.

Both starters looked great early on as both Zach Plesac for the Indians and Joe Musgrove for the Pirates looked sharp. Musgrove kept the Indians bats in check during his three innings of work as he only allowed one hit and one walk, while striking out five before he takes the mound for the Pirates against the Cardinals for the Opening Day.

Zach Plesac pitched five innings for the Indians, striking out 6, but allowed 6 hits and 2 runs, with both runs coming in the 5th inning, where it looked like Zach may have been getting tired, as he and the other players get back into game shape after a 4 month layoff due to the delayed season.

With both bullpens getting some time to get ready for the season, the Indians bullpen looked sharp, while the Pirates bullpen struggled to close the game. The Indians bullpen threw four innings allowing only one run and 4 hits to keep the game within reach.

The Pirates bullpen could not get the job done as when the 8th inning came around, the Indians started their comeback. It started with back to back walks to George Valera and Bo Naylor, then a Tyler Freeman singled loaded the bases with one out, up came Christian Arroyo. Arroyo crushed a ball to deep left field that hit off the wall, which scored all 3 runners to tie the game at 3.

After a pitching change, Yu Chang kept his hot summer camp going and hit a double of his own to score Arroyo and give the Indians the lead at 4-3. The Indians tacked one on in the 9th, to make it 5-3.

Phil Maton pitched a scoreless ninth to record the save and the victory for the Indians.

The next Indians game on the radio will be Monday evening at 7, as the team plays the Pirates once more this time at Progressive Field. You can listen to the game on the air or at wtam.com/listen
