CLEVELAND--Carlos Carrasco (4-7) was everyone's hero at Progressive Field, getting two key strikeouts to a thunderous crowd in the eighth inning. But with two out, James McCann tied the game with a three run homer followed by the go-ahead homer by Eloy Jimenez for the White Sox as they steal a victory away from the Indians 6-5.
Francisco Lindor had a lead-off homer for the sixth time this season to give the Indians an early lead. Eloy Jimenez connected with a RBI double to bring home Yoan Moncada in the second to tie the game. In the fifth, Roberto Perez singled to right, driving home Franmil Reyes from second.
Then in the seventh after Jimenez's homer, Perez connected with a key three run homer that many believe would be enough for an Indians victory.
But the eighth inning happened. In Carlos Carrasco's first test from the bullpen, he had a great start as he struck out his first two hitter. Then he gave up back-to-back jacks.
Indians were stuck out 16 times in this game.
With the Twins victory against the Red Sox, the Indians are now 6.5 games back in the AL Central. On August 9th, the Indians were in first place in the division. In the Wild Card race, Indians are in the 2nd Wild Card spot (barring an Oakland loss tonight).
