CLEVELAND--The resurgence of Jason Kipnis has been on full display. Before we show the walk-off, here's what he told STO's Andre Knott last week:
Kipnis, who is batting .471 in the last nine games, led the charge to Minnesota with the walk-off homer in the 10th off Wily Peralta (2-4).
Now in present-day, Kipnis again talks to Knott about tonight's walk-off win.
After a very underwhelming April and May especially offensively, the Indians are now 15-6 in June which is an AL best. This month included series victories against AL Central leading Minnesota Twins, AL East leading New York Yankees along with a split with AL Wild Card contender Texas Rangers.
After the game, Tito joked about the length of the game with the 2 hour, 23 minute rain delay and extras.
Brad Hand (4-2) gets the win due to weather but Adam Plutko carried a no-hitter into the fourth inning. He only gave up a solo-homer to Whit Merrifield but Plutko would've continued if there was no rain stoppage.
Bobby Bradley in his second major league start had his second straight game with a RBI, this time driving in Jose Ramirez who walked in the sixth to set this up.
Indians get their first win against the Royals this season after they were swept back in April. Indians will start RHP Shane Bieber (6-3, 3.86) while the Royals start RHP Glenn Sparkman (2-3, 3.62) on Tuesday night. There is no rain in Tuesday's forecast.
