CLEVELAND--The Indians current two game losing streak has not been a respectable as the Tribe have been outscored 19-1 in the last two games against the Mariners and White Sox respectively. Indians fall to the Chicago White Sox Monday night 9-1.
In Trevor Bauer's first start since the Corey Kluber injury, Bauer (4-2) was rocked for the first time this season, giving up eight runs in five plus innings. Meanwhile, Ivan Nova (1-3) who came into today's game as arguably the worst starter in the majors secured his first win since last September as a Pittsburgh Pirate against the Milwaukee Brewers. Nova only gave up one run in seven innings.
Below is the damage the White Sox produced in this game:
Yoan Moncada was on fire as he had four RBI and a two-run homer to lead the scoring efforts for the White Sox. James McCann had a solo homer and Leury Garcia also helped with three singles. Mr. Bat Flip Tim Anderson put the game on ice with a two-run single in the sixth. This led to Indians manager Terry Francona pulling Bauer, one day after the bullpen worked eight-plus innings after Cody Anderson's start.
Game two of this four game set is on Tuesday night featuring the pitching matchup of RHP Jefry Rodriguez (0-1), who is being recalled from the Columbus Clippers (Triple-A) against RHP Lucas Giolito (2-1).
