CLEVELAND, OH -- Tonight's matchup between the Seattle Mariners and the Cleveland Indians had the feel of extra innings throughout the entire game, as each team's respective starter was dealing their best stuff, but Tyler Naquin had other ideas. Lindor led the 9th inning with a walk, followed by a fielder's choice and then a walk to Carlos Santana, which set up a golden opportunity for the young tribe outfielder. Tyler Naquin pinch-hit for Jordan Luplow and swung on the first pitch he saw, driving a single to right field and scoring Leonys Martin to secure a 2-1 victory. The Cleveland Indians now have two walk-off winners on the young season.

Shane Bieber had one of the best starts of his career, cruising through the lineup through most of the night. Bieber made one errant mistake and Jay Bruce made him pay, launching a solo homer in the 4th inning. Following the injuries of both Clevinger and Kluber, the tribe needed someone to step up in a big way and that is just what Bieber did, as he pitched the longest outing of his career, 7.2 innings giving up 1 earned run on on 6 hits, striking out 8 Mariners. The tribe bullpen shut the door on the Mariners, putting the Indians in a great position to steal a win. Before Naquin's walk-off, the Indians' lone run came from a double play off of the bat of Carlos Santana, which scored Leonys Martin.

Shane Bieber earns his third win of the season, moving him to (3-1) on the year. Despte pitching a gem, Mariners' starter Yusei Kikuchi was hit a no-decision. Anthony Swarzak was given his first loss of the season, moving him to (2-1) on the year.

The Indians will square off against the Seattle Mariners in game two of a three-game weekend series on Saturday afternoon. The tribe will give the ball to Carlos Carrasco, as he will be facing off against Mariners' starter Mike Leake. First pitch is set for 4:10 PM ET at Progressive Field in beautiful Cleveland, Ohio.
