HOUSTON--On a night where runs came at a premium, Trevor Bauer (3-1) led the Indians to a 2-1 victory against Gerrit Cole (1-4) and the Houston Astros.

In the third, Leonys Martin homer a line drive to right field near the foul line to put the Tribe up 1-0.

Bauer only gave up one run, to George Springer in the bottom of the third. It was a long solo shot to left field that easily left the stadium.

But in the fifth, Jake Bauers secured the go-ahead solo home run to put the Tribe up 2-1. Bauer pitched eight innings, giving up one run, three strikeouts, four hits and six walks. Despite the walks, the Astros were unable to take advantage of the opportunities. Brad Hand recorded his seventh save of the season as he finished the game in the ninth inning.

Corey Kluber (2-2, 5.88) will start Friday night against Collin McHugh (3-2, 4.78) in game two of this four game set.
