As Americans woke up on this day eighteen years ago, no one had any idea how much their lives could change in three hours.

As Americans grabbed their morning coffee on this day eighteen years ago, no one could imagine how much destruction could be done in three hours.

As Americans embarked on their commutes to work and school, no one knew that it would be the last time thousands of Americans hugged their loved ones.

As Americans lived their lives on the morning of September 11, 2001, no one knew that the plan that Osama bin Laden hatched years earlier would become a very tragic reality.

There is nothing that can replace the Americans that perished that day. The only thing that can be done is to remember them: Remember the 2,977 souls that didn't see the twelfth of September. Most importantly, Americans need to remember that on that warm morning in September that people put away party politics and conventional rivalries and became one country.
