Yesterday, the FBI announced that they charged over 40 people in a nationwide college entrance exam cheating scam. It is believed to be the largest crime of this kind in American history.

College administrators, coaches, and parents were named as part of a complex scheme centered around a California businessman. Notable actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman were among the parents charged by the FBI for paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to the man to help get their children accepted into college. The businessman would in turn bribe college administrators and coaches to help get their unqualified children into prestigious universities.

While parents shouldn't be blamed for wanting what's best for their children, they can and should be blamed when crimes are committed. It is also a problem when parents teach their kids that entitlement is more important than hard work.
