Downtown Cleveland Alliance Update With CEO Michael Deemer - 9-29-21

Michael Deemer, President & CEO from The Downtown Cleveland Alliance spoke to Bill about there’s a new mural up in Downtown Cleveland - how it all came together

Very excitedabout the Cleveland Brown’s very own Myles Garrett commissioning yet another mural in partnership with DCA’s #VoicesofCLE Public Art Program. These murals add a colorful pop of vibrancy to our urban neighborhood and provide another site to see when visiting Downtown.

  • Yesterday, we held a press conference at US Bank Plaza in Downtown Cleveland to unveil the mural which is located on the northwest wall of the building where United Way of Greater Cleveland is located, on E. 13th & Euclid.
  • Produced in partnership with Union Club Foundation, Playhouse Square, United Way of Greater Cleveland and Myles Garret
  • Artist- Lauren Pearce - piece depicts Myles Garrett’s beloved grandmother, illustrating the love, kindness, and close bond they share
  • Prior to the 2021 NFL draft Myles Garrett Commissioned pieces that were placed on the Destination Cleveland window front

There are so many reasons to come back Downtown, and this mural and other #VoicesofCLE murals are among some of the irresistible experiences that take place right here in Downtown Cleveland.

And can we expect to see more exciting changes like this coming to Downtown Cleveland?

  • Bedrock announced plans for Vision for the Valley
  • United Church of Christ announced plans to keep headquarters Downtown, moving into AECOM Building in the Erieview Historic District
  • Crittenden Court Apartments was sold. New owner has plans for a substantial renovation to the apartments near the riverfront
  • Plans were announced for Tower at Erieview to receive a makeover that will include W Luxury Hotel
  • Renaissance Cleveland Hotel will be rebranded as Hotel Cleveland as part of its renovation process

Lots of Development activity on the horizon. Downtown is positioned well on the road to recovery, and the mayoral election is a key part of our future. Want to encourage everyone to get registered to vote - deadline is October 4.

  • See DCA’s Public Policy agenda, Voter Education Guide, and the responses from our Candidate Questionnaire at to help inform your decision. The future of our city depends on it.

Encourage everyone to get vaccinated, and we'll see you downtown.
