CLEVELAND,OH--- The Cavs season has come to an end after a 106-95 loss in game 5 to the New York Knicks, who will move on to round 2 of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Cavs would see an unlikely performer step up in the first half and throughout the game, this being Caris LeVert. LeVert was on fire from 3 point range in the first half making 3 of his 4 attempts scoring 12 first half points while snagging 3 rebounds. LeVert would continue to contribute some good minutes to the Cavs finishing the game with 17 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds while shooting 57% from behind the arc. Another good first half performance for the Cavs came from Isaac Okoro, scoring 10 points off the bench. Like the game in whole, the first half was all Knicks, a blow for New York came very late in the half (around a minute to go) with Julius Randle going down suffering a sprained ankle. Randle was having a very good game with 13 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds, but the Knicks didn't lose a step with Randle limping off the court and not returning. The Knicks would score a series high in first half points, 61. The Knicks also did what they've done best all series, out rebounding the Cavs 48-30.

The Cavs would start the 2nd half hot, going on a 5-0 run with around 6 and a half minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, but the Knicks just kept on holding the Cavs down, any effort the Cavs made, the Knicks kept putting the Cavs down. The Cavs did not lead for a single second all game. Darius Garland would attempt to lead the Cavs in the second half, getting run after run, cutting down Knick lead after Knick lead, but the team couldn't get a rally together to take the lead. Garland would finish with 21 points,4 assists, and 2 rebounds. Donovan Mitchell would score 28 points, dish out 5 assists and pull in 7 rebounds, shooting 42% from the field. The standout performance for New York came from RJ Barrett, scoring 21 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds, an unlikely performance came from guard Josh Hart, who pulled in 12 rebounds, he leads all guards across the NBA in the playoffs.
