Andre Drummond Leads Cavaliers Past Knicks 106-103

CLEVELAND, OH -- The Cavaliers were once again short-handed in their Friday night matchup against the Knicks, dressing only eight players. Cleveland Head Coach JB Bickerstaff decided to go with a 7-man rotation and ran a high tempo style of play. The Cavs rode the coattails of Cavaliers big man Andre Drummond, who had a near perfect performance while lifting his squad over the Knicks by the final score of 106-103.

Despite being down by double digits in the second half, the Knicks soared back into the game on a 12-0 run to end the third quarter. The Cavaliers stepped up big on the defensive end down the stretch, making several key stops to secure the wi.

Andre Drummond made history on Friday night, becoming the first Cavalier since the 2004 season to record at least 30 points while securing at least 20 rebounds. The savvy veteran finished the game with 33 points, 23 boards, and 3 assists. Cleveland swing-man Cedi Osman tied his season high in scoring with 25 points on 50% shooting from the field.

Cleveland snapped a three-game losing streak to move to a 6-7 record on the young season. The scuffling New York Knicks have now dropped five straight games and fall to a record of 5-8.

Due to Covid-19 related issues within the Washington Wizards facilities, the Sunday and Monday afternoon games between the Wizards and Cavaliers have been postponed. A fatigued Cavaliers team will have plenty of time to rest before their next game, which will be on Wednesday night. The Cavaliers will host on the new look Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, January 20th. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm ET at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. Check out highlights from tonight's victory below!
