Edward X. McNamara is the President & CEO of Armada Risk Partners, a Cleveland-based insurance brokerage with an additional location in Detroit, Michigan. Previous to Armada, Ed was Senior Vice President and Regional Sales Director at Aon, where he led the sales team for the Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky region. Concurrently, Ed specialized in environmental risk management and protections for Aon. Before that, Ed served as Rainmaker at Oswald Companies, a regional commercial insurance brokerage, where his focus was Property & Casualty and Health & Benefits insurance. Prior to joining the insurance world, Ed also started and ran his own technology and software company.
After the loss of their oldest child, Maria, to a glioma brain tumor at the age of 7, Ed and his wife, Megan, co-founded and continue to lead the Prayers From Maria Foundation. Prayers From Maria is dedicated to funding global research into the causes, prevention, treatment and cure for pediatric glioma brain tumors. Ed also continues his philanthropic work as a board member for The Lorain County Board of Health, County Mayo Society, and Irish American Charitable Foundation. He is a Cleveland native who grew up in Rocky River as the son of a Cleveland Police Captain and attended Saint Ignatius High School and The Ohio State University. He and his wife Megan have four sons â Eddie, Aidan, Blake & Josh â and currently reside in Avon Lake, Ohio.
