U.S. Soldier That Crossed Into North Korea Is Being Expelled

A U.S. soldier detained in North Korea after crossing into that country without permission will be expelled.

State-run media announced the decision today but did not say when the move would be made.

Private Travis King was taken into custody in July after he bolted across the DMZ during a tour, rather than board a flight back home to the U.S.

North Korea at the time said King confessed that he had illegally entered the country due to alleged "inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the U.S. Army."
