A Hampton, Virginia library had a problem this week; after switching to a new web address, people who tried to type in their old URL wound up being redirected to the website for the Hampton Adult Toy Store, which bills itself on the site as “the premiere destination for your adult toy needs.” The site talks about the toys available, including articles about how you can set sex dolls up in “acrobatic sex positions.”
Amazingly, there’s a twist to the story, because it looks like the sex shop doesn’t actually exist. It’s being reported that there are no stores in or around the Hampton area named the Hampton Adult Toy Store; there is a Facebook page by that name, but it hasn’t been updated since last year. A library rep says, “someone impersonated a city employee…and transferred the old URL.”
