Boston Celtic Great Bill Russell Dies at 88

NBA legend Bill Russell has died at the age of 88. The death of the former Boston Celtics player and coach was announced today by his family.

During his career Russell participated in winning 11 NBA championships and five league MVPs. Bill Russell was also the first African-American coach in the NBA

Russell Averaged 15.1 points per game and 22.5 rebounds per game while becoming one of the greatest players in the history of the game.

Russell also won an Olympic Gold medal as the Captain of the U.S.A. squad in 1956. He was the first player to win a college title, Olympic Gold medal and an NBA Championship.
